For construction business owners looking to attract new talent into their business or looking to invest in upskilling their current workforce as well as construction professionals looking to diversify their skills or gain new qualifications
You will get an opportunity to learn how industry can take the lead in tackling the skills shortage, how to become involved with AccXel, how to upskill their workforce to adequately equip them for today’s construction environment and how to attract new talent into their businesses.

The construction industry is inundated with horror stories of labour and skills shortages and the frightening number of workers needed to fill current construction pipelines.  In order to tackle this, a local construction company, together with government funding through the local LEP has resolved to tackle these issues by building a construction education facility, the first co-funded, industry-led construction school in the UK.  Hear about how AccXel will tackle the skill shortages, as well as change the perception of the construction industry as a career to aspire to, and how your business could be a part of this evolution in construction education

Natalie Bell is the Growth & Partnership Director at AccXel, the Construction Skills Accelerator Centre, due for completion of construction in November 2021. AccXel is the first co-funded, industry-led construction education facility in the UK and is co-funded by GFirst LEP and K W Bell Group Ltd.
Natalie has used her legal skills as a qualified Barrister in her construction career to date.  Having built a new development region in less than two years for Kier Living, with a GDV of £250m, she has expertise in land acquisition, joint ventures, affordable housing and construction.  Natalie is an advocate for women in construction, especially at Board and Senior Management level, and was the Chair of Women in Property South Wales in 2019.

Having worked in both housebuilding and construction at National and Regional companies, Natalie has first-hand knowledge of the skills and resourcing challenges facing the construction industry, and how these challenges can be addressed through a sustained and cohesive approach between industry and education
