Understanding Embodied Carbon; The Importance of Material Selection

15th March 2024

12.00 - 13:00

Webinar Overview

The webinar will explain the different types of carbon emissions associated with the built environment and how they are measured and minimised.

The built environment is responsible for almost 40% of global carbon emissions. It is our moral imperative to design and deliver buildings that do not exacerbate the climate and biodiversity emergency. We are seeing industry leadership with the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard and the proposed Part Z addition to the building regulations. We are also planning refusals as a result of the embodied carbon emissions associated with demolition.
