Join other fellow English supporters for a festive celebration of St George's Day

LeadersMeets is delighted to host an online celebration of our National Day!

This event is the launch of a series we are calling the 'Festival of the Human Spirit' and it is our pleasure to have as our guest of honour a person who is a worthy example of human spirit! - of courage and endurance.

So come along with your favourite English drink, sit back and listen with anticipation to our guest speaker.

Guest speaker

Mick Dawson is a former Royal Marine and one of the worlds most experienced and successful Ocean Rowers. He’s also an expert on dealing with isolation, having spent over 520 days at sea on ocean rowing boats, alone, or with just one other person for company. On one solo row he spent 97 days without speaking to another human being after his communications failed.

Mick’s rowed over 22,000 miles and in 2009 with Chris Martin rowed from Japan to The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. A voyage of over six months and a world first. Their remarkable feat is yet to be repeated.

Mick returned to the Pacific Ocean in 2018 to complete another world first when he rowed from California to Hawaii with former Royal Marine Steve Sparkes. ‘Sparky’ is blind. He became the first blind person to row the Pacific when he stepped ashore in Honolulu.

During this event there will be the unique opportunity to purchase a signed copy of Mick's personal books from his amazing life experiences.
