We are delighted to welcome this week's guest speaker Richard Lankshear who will be setting out the view of NHBC on the demand for offsite, the key risks to be addressed and how we go about assessing quality.

This discussion with opportunity for Q&A will focus on how NHBC will assess the quality of production as well as design and onsite construction.

Innovation Manager, NHBC

Richard is Innovation Manager at NHBC, the UK’s leading independent provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. He joined NHBC in 2018 leading a specialist team in the assessment of innovative technologies in house building, with responsibility for the creation of NHBC's policy and procedures to address Modern Methods of Construction and to identify trends in construction to inform risk management in non-conventional construction.  

His current focus is NHBC Accepts, a comprehensive review service for innovative construction systems and products. It’s the fast-track route for acceptance of systems and products for use on developments covered by NHBC’s Buildmark warranty. Richard manages a dedicated team of experts in innovative construction who carry out robust technical reviews of new systems and components at key stages.  

Richard is a member of the Construction Leadership Council’s working group on Smart Buildings, the MHCLG working group on Modern Methods of Construction and is a stakeholder in the Advanced Industrial Methods of Constructing Homes. He is a chartered structural engineer and a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers Committee for Business Practice and Regulatory Compliance.
