Anna will be joined by Sarah Lee who is a Partner and Joint Head of the BPE Solicitors LLP Employment Team. Sarah will offer guidance regarding employment and HR issues arising from COVID-19, including sending staff home, what to pay staff in different scenarios, what to do if your workplace stays open and what your options might be in relation to temporary redundancies. She will also endeavor to answer any questions you may have in this ever-changing situation!

Anna Wood is a Senior Associate in the Construction & Engineering Team at BPE Solicitors LLP, as well as Club Secretary of Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire Club. She will run through how different standard form contracts (JCT, NEC3 and 4 and FIDIC) deal with the different types of disruption that might arise from COVID-19. She will also look at the duties under design team appointments and on Contract Administrators/Employer’s Agents.
Anna will talk around time and cost consequences and what contractors should be doing now in respect of projects that are already under contract. She will then talk about considerations for contracts currently under negotiation – how can parties protect themselves now and should future contracts be dealt with differently from those already signed? Anna will be happy to answer questions and provide general legal guidance.
