First, please update your profile information. Add your organisation name to the Headline field, and fill in some details about yourself. This will help you to network more efficiently.

UPON ENTERING THE EVENT 

On the left-hand side of the platform, you see the five main sections for the event: Reception, Stage, Sessions, Networking, and Expo. 
Whereas on the right-hand side of the platform, below your profile, you see three sections: Chat, Polls, and People. 
The right side of the platform: 

CHAT 

Each content segment has a dedicated chat space available:  

 Event chat — global event chat where all participants can post messages.  
Stage chat — chat with a Stage-related discussion all attendees have access to.  
Session chat — each session in Sessions has dedicated chat rooms. Attendees who are off-camera can chat to interact with people on camera and vice-versa.  
Booth chat — like Sessions, each booth has its own chat for group discussions and interaction.  
Meeting chat — in Networking, a private 1:1 chat channel is available to the participants.  
Direct messages — anyone can send messages to an individual at an event on Hopin via DMs in the People tab. To send a DM, find the person you wish to chat with in the People tab, click their profile photo, and send a direct message to them.

PEOPLE 

Here you can see who are the other participants of the event, and if you like to, you can write a specific person a direct message. The left side of the platform: 

POLLS 

Here you will find polls related to the whole event or to the specific stage or session you will be attending at that moment. The speakers will appreciate if you answer the questions in the polls.

RECEPTION 

The Reception area is the welcome page or “lobby” of the event. Here you can quickly find out what’s happening at the event currently: the organizer's welcome message, the schedule, and speakers.

STAGE 

The stage is the main area where you will be able to view all of the main events apart from workshops.
To see the stage, just click on the “Stage” button. There you will see a countdown until the beginning of the next event. If the event has already started then you will be able to start watching the content straight away.

SESSIONS (WORKSHOP AREA) 

Head there to see all ongoing workshops listed and choose one to join. Note, that the workshops will become visible only 5min before they will begin. The full schedule is available at the Reception area.

There are 2 ways to participate in workshops.
1.Ask questions and communicate using ‘session’ chat.
2.Join on the screen to ask questions and communicate directly (if the workshop lead implies to do so). To do that, click on the blue button with “Share Audio and Video” on it and wait when the session moderator adds you.

EXPO

This area is where you can find interesting companies and learn more about their products. Click on the “Expo” button to go there, and once there, choose any company that you are interested in to learn more about them. Either the companies will have representatives talking to you live or there will be pre-recorded video messages. All of the embedded videos added to the virtual booths are played on demand, i.e. when accessing the booth you will have the ability to play/pause/skip the video.

NETWORKING 

This is the area where the matchmaking will take place. When you are ready to make new connections, click on the “Networking” button and then press “ready”. The system will automatically connect you with a randomly selected person who is also ready for networking. We have set a time limit for each conversation to 10 minutes. After that, if you like, you will have the chance to meet another person. Note that you can click the Connect button during a call to exchange contact information and after the event, the newly made contacts will appear at the Connections page of their individual Profile.
